Winifred Burkle played by Amy Acker

Amy Acker Bio...

Born and raised in Dallas, this Texas native studied ballet, modern and jazz dancing for 13 years before heading to Southern Methodist University to study fine arts. While in college, Acker discovered a love for acting and enrolled in theater classes, ultimate graduating with a B.F.A. Her numerous stage credits include productions of The Tempest and Much Ado About Nothing.

After a brief stint in New York City, Acker settled in Los Angeles, where she landed several independent films, most notably Groom Lake, written and directed by William Shatner. After a reading for Angel, she nailed the recurring role of Fred and after one season was upped to a series regular role.

When she's not working, Acker enjoys traveling, reading and yoga.

Fred Bio

Fred was studying to be a physicist until she vanished
through a portal in the LA Library. She was enslaved in
the dimension of Pylea for five years. Angel saved Fred
from beheading, and Fred saved Angel from killing his
friends while he was temporarily out of control. She
calculated the mathematics to reopen the dimensional
portal, and went back to LA with Angel and company. She
seemed to have a brief crush on Angel, but after five
years with only Pylean men to look at, who wouldn't?
(Obviously I'm not counting Groosalugg though.)
But, that was short-lived, and she soon fell for Gunn,
and the two soon began going out (poor Wesley had feelings
for Fred, but he soon squashed them after he found out about
 her and Gunn).
Now head physicist Wolfram & Hart
